Company Call: blueREP at 20, our 20th anniversary concert, ended with everyone in blueREP (alumni, friends of blueREP, cast, and production crew) singing this onstage, the national anthem of musical theater — “Seasons of Love” from Rent. Such an unforgettable moment, sharing the stage with all these people I have grown to admire and love. Right now I’m listening to this song and I’m crying so hard. Thank you, blueREP, for the opportunity to work with such amazing and talented people whose passion for their art will always inspire me. Measured in love, indeed.

Company Call: blueREP at 20
It all started in 1991.
Ever since the Ateneo blueREPERTORY staged its first production, Pippin, the performing arts organization has been bringing out the best of young Filipino talent to the exciting world of musical theater. With their shared passion for musicals, the founders of blueREP brought musical theater to a newer, younger audience, paving the way for what the organization has grown into today.
This year, blueREP is celebrating its 20th season with Company Call: blueREP at 20—a concert showcasing various numbers from productions staged by the organization, since it was founded over two decades ago. Audience members can expect to be entertained by songs from classic Broadway musicals such as Once On This Island and Footloose, and to be electrified by high-energy numbers from more contemporary musicals like High School Musical and All Shook Up. blueREP original Stages of Love will also take a special place on the stage, ready as always to serenade lovers and would-be lovers on this pre-Valentine’s Day event. Get ready to be regaled by show-stopping numbers from a total of 21 musicals for one night only, in this delightful celebration of musical theater.
Company Call: blueREP at 20 will feature noted blueREP alumni, also considered to be some of our best talents in Philippine theater today. Keep your eyes peeled for Rem Zamora (Repertory Philippines), RR Herrera (TV personality and FAMAS awardee) and Gabe Mercado (TV personality and founder of improv-comedy group SPIT)
Company Call: blueREP at 20 is directed by Toff De Venecia (blueREP’s Freakshow and Little Shop of Horrors), with musical direction by current blueREP artistic director Ejay Yatco (blueREP’s Edges and Little Shop of Horrors) and choreography plus additional direction by Jim Ferrer (blueREP’s Rock N’ Rule and Black Prom) Company Call: blueREP at 20 will be held in the Henry Lee Irwin Theater, Ateneo de Manila University, on February 11, 2012 at 8PM. Tickets are priced at P500, with student and bulk discounts available. Please contact Ant Altomonte at 0926-7164395 to purchase your tickets.

Meet my friend Ejay.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA OMG THIS. THIS IS GOLDEN.
Wow, bigtime na pala si Ejay. Naging Tumblr meme na.
Terror musical director!
Bluerep is doing it again!
A few years ago, in the sauna bath of a performance space that was Gonzaga Exhibit Hall in Ateneo, the country’s premiere musical theater organization mounted one of its best shows yet.
The show was called BARE and it saw my leading men from All Shook Up (a musical I co-directed), Bibo Reyes and Amos Francia being each other’s leading men for this gay-themed rock operatic musical. The show was directed by idol Ana Abad Santos and was assistant directed by my pal Bea Garcia, and seemed the perfect embodiment of the gritty and nuanced vitality that Bluerep is all too capable of. The show was tailor-fit for the org, and it was probably one of its best shows yet.
The crazy core was holding back on its season ender ‘til the very last minute. From Little Shop to Black Prom, what was next? A couple of months ago, the announcement finally came. They’re doing it again - BARE: The Musical for its season finale. Be sure to mark your calendars for the audition. There is no specific date yet but don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience the org from which hailed most of the who’s who of theater today. Amazing!
Congrats in advance Bluerep! I love you with all my heart.
“The crazy core…” - you got that right, we’re certainly crazy! I love you blueREP <3

Had so much fun over the past three days with my fellow blueREPpers in my last Plevsem! I feel bloated now after everything we ate, but it’s okay. I’m really happy that blueREP’s gone so far from the time I first joined it, and the blueREP family has only become stronger with the bonds between members and all the amazing talent people have brought. I’m glad I can graduate knowing that blueREP will be in good hands. :)
Also, we missed you, Maronne!
The CORE Officers of the Ateneo Blue Repertory, everyone. I’m so blessed to be a part of the group that leads and nurtures the organization that my heart calls home, and I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved this year!!
I can’t even imagine a life without musical theatre. Hahaha! Go BlueRep!
