A beautiful Tagalog poem read to us today by our Theology professor, Bobby Guev. May we never forget what truly matters in life.

There are only a few teachers I’ve encountered in university who truly made an impact on my life. Bobby Guev, for all his difficult quizzes and mind-blowing tests, certainly did and still continues to do so. As he was reading this poem during the opening prayer for our Theology 141 class earlier today, I looked to my side and saw @teamfrankiee tear up. I have to admit that I did, too. This man gave me the kind of legendary Ateneo education I have always wanted to experience, and for this I am truly grateful.

Not a few Ateneo seniors are currently in this dilemma. Excerpt: “Most of my morning yesterday saw my whole existence and essence agreeing with something that Bobby Guev said: “Gusto kong maniwala na masarap maging Atenista dahil masakit maging Atenista.” […] That is both the problem and the reward of being an Atenean today.  […] It has become a thorn at my side, disrupting all my plans, changing the way I saw the world, wounding me into yearning to become more.
