Grapevine Fires - Death Cab For Cutie
And we watched the plumes paint the sky gray
But she laughed and danced through the field of graves
And there I knew it would be alright
That everything would be alrightTo warn us it’s only a matter of time
Before we all burn
“I Will Follow You Into the Dark” from the Death Cab For Cutie concert last Monday at the NBC Tent, with a surprisingly fit and very energetic (and charming, and adorable, and everything synonymous to these) Ben Gibbard and his much better new hair and properly-rolled up shirt sleeves.
Somewhere up front to the right, I was one of the screaming rabid fan girls singing and sobbing along to the song (and pretty much everything else thereafter).
Death Cab For Cutie has always been a part of the soundtrack to my teenage (and early adult) life, and seeing them live a while ago was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while. I’m so glad they played “Transatlanticism”, and I’m not ashamed to say that I cried when the first note of that song started. Those tickets were totally worth it, also because they had Never The Strangers as the opening act! I’m really happy for these guys (even though I only know one of them personally - whaddup, @wheredidjp) and what they’ve been able to achieve.
Also, Ben Gibbard is really quite attractive when he’s playing. Too bad about him and Zooey, though.
Song: A Lack Of Color

12:44 AM, lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, wondering at what point everything just started going downhill without me even noticing.

How many times have I reblogged this song? Anyway, when they play this (because they just have to play this, or else I will throw a whiney tantrum), I know I’m going to end up sobbing. I’m starting to feel the college separation anxiety now that I only have two regular days of school left before my finals and (hopefully) graduation.

Psyching myself out for the concert (which, incidentally, will feature Never the Strangers as the opening act — good job, @wheredidjp!). What a mood-appropriate song to listen to, though. Also, @teamfrankiee, I remembered you again.

Favorite. Re-listening to this and Plans to psych myself for their concert in March.
